Candy Fair 2014: I've Got a Sweet Tooth for Candy

Oh my god, for the first time in forever (a la Frozen) I actually had the chance to attend the Candy Fair last September 27, 2014 at the Metrowalk Tent in Ortigas. I've been an avid and true-blue Candy Girl since 2010. I remember seeing my forever crush Candy Cutie Sam Concepcion on the cover and I just had to grab it. It was my birthday month then (May) and somehow that was the first of my many, many issues of Candy.

I have my very awesome and convincing friends, Rohanne and Camille, to thank for because they were the ones who told me about the fair and no matter how reluctant I was at first, I still decided to go. Love these girlies to bits!

The Candy Fair felt like UPLB's Feb Fair with less booths and mooore teenage girls. There were booths with games and also a photobooth where you can be a Candy cover girl. We even got free DIY tattoos and conditioners from Creamsilk. Then the show started and one of the hosts was Joyce Pring. She was definitely so cute and bubbly. My friends and I were even shocked to see that the UPLB Street Jazz were performing that afternoon. We were slightly proud, though. Despite the few booths, it was worth attending because finally I got to fan girl (a bit.) Honestly I felt a lot older than most girls so we were just standing behind.

It was a teeny weensy bit heartbreaking that I didn't get to take a picture with my crushes but nonetheless my heart rejoiced just seeing them from afar. I was so happy to see Jerome Ponce, Alexander Diaz, Maqui Castelo, Rammy Bitong, LA Aguinaldo, Elmo Magalona, James Reid, Manolo Pedrosa and more. Oh, wait, and Sam Concepcion of course!

One of the few celebrities who were there was Clara Magalona so I had my picture taken with her. I used to follow her on Tumblr and she's quite awesome like her sister Saab, who's one of my idols. She's actually so tall and pretty in person!

I also had my photo taken with Candy Cutie Maqui Castelo since I found him wandering around the tent (too bad his fellow Cuties were not!). We even had a short conversation while he signed my doodle book and apparently he's a fellow artist! Sadly I didn't get to ask further questions but he told me he's a graphic designer seeing that my doodle book was kind of artsy.

I was also psyched to take a picture with Verniece Enciso. I really think she's so pretty and sweet and now I like her even more because she was so nice! She's holding my doodle book in our photo.

And to be honest, the highlight of my experience was getting to meet two of the Candy Team who were so kind to let the others sign on my doodle book. One of them even took a picture of me with it. Too bad I didn't get to meet them all but it made me so happy just seeing what they wrote for me!

All in all, the Candy Fair was quite okay for me. I really had fun and I swear I'm going next year! Hopefully I would meet my crushes then and take a photo with them. Haha!
