The inevitable truth knocked,
Slapping reality onto her face.
"No one loves you." It said,
"You will be alone forever."
Feeling hopeless, she stared into darkness,
Succumbing to her fate, embracing it in surrender.
Her mind wondered and her thoughts wandered,
The truth had hurt her like hell.
No one, she repeated into words,
No one does and it echoed loudly in her head.
I am awful, hideous and horrible, she thought,
I am undesirable and pathetic.
She sat on a corner and wept,
Wept until she found solace,
In her sleep and dreams she often did,
Unconsciously ignorant of the truth.
